ABC Gives Thumbs Up To Wade and James

Dwayne Wade revealed that Miami Heat aren't the belle of the night, and the darlings of the basketball world either. Yet ABC loves them all. The network has given more than a chock full of shining glory to Wade and LeBron James during their NBA Finals victory coverage, not to forget Game 3; which was no exception despite the change of venue from South Beach to Dallas. The domineering storyline which is Miami’s mental state after a Game 2 meltdown was set early on as spectators were given a chance to take a peek inside James’ ante-game huddle speech.

“I think we like this feeling right here, we feel desperate, “James said. “I think we’re at our best when we’re a desperate team”. Giving the subdued, humble demeanor of the Mavericks crew, missing their pregame huddle speech wasn’t such a big loss at all. And speaking of personality, the Mavs don’t exactly set up Masterpiece a la cart theater for the NBA. Shortly after James’ pregame line, ABC showcased a videotaped segment with Wade with regards to the Heat’s toppling down in Game 2. Snapshots of newspaper clippings and their acrid headlines served as proof to Wade’s interview. "A lot of people would like to see us lose at certain times, but we have fans out there that want to see us win," Wade said. "Obviously as a competitor, it drives you whenever you hear things, when you're watching something and it's always picking at the negative things about your team."

Wait a second, Miami Heat have haters? That’s strange, because it’s the very first time it’s been news this season. On the other hand, ABC’s Wade, James and Co tandem pushed through for most of the broadcast as the halftime report was exclusively dedicated to Miami coverage. Shaq even spoke of Wade’s NBA Finals greatness and ESPN’s Rachel Nichols gave a heartwarming interview with Mike Miller about his daughters struggles for a health battle.
