Howard of Magic Voted Defensive Player of the Year… Again

Dwight Howard has one note for that one voter who had the guts to completely leave the Orlando Magic center off the ballot for NBA defensive player of the year. Howard thanked that voter on Monday, when he was asked for his reaction on the leap of faith. “I’ll do better next year.” That goal will be more than difficult for Howard to finish, who on Monday was declared the first player in league history to win defensive player of the year for the last three respective seasons. Howard spearheaded the league during double doubles and scored an average of 14.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and a staggering 1.3 steals for this season. Watch 2011 NBA Playoffs online so you won’t miss on the shooting hoops.

Albeit Howard focused more on making steps with his offensive game, his defensive demeanor remained rock-solid for the Magic, who came in fourth in the league in both defensive field goals and allowed points. Orlando even led the league in defensive rebounding.

All in all, Howard received 114 of a total of 120 first-place votes and gathered together a total of 585 points.

Kevin Garnett, who is the Boston Celtics forward ended up second with one first-place vote and 77 points while Dallas Mavericks center Tyson handler went third with 20 second-place votes and 70 points. Watch 2011 NBA Playoffs online and see what you got about your updates, add more to it!

Howard laughed off in being left off the one ballot, and also took a playful gear at teammates for frequently tolerating him to keep his defenses keen. Only Ben Wallace and Dikembe Mutombo have garnered the defensive player of the year awards four consecutive times. Aside from himself, Howard also recognized other great post players, such as Hakeem Olajuwon and Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing for aiding him to develop his game and tie ends together through the years.

"Just to be in the same sentence with those guys, they've paved the way for me," said Howard, who at age 25 is in his seventh season. "It's my job to keep it going. I'm going to try to do the best I can on the defensive end to dominate and to change the game. It definitely is a honor to be considered one of the best defensive players to play the game, and I'm still young. So hopefully, I can keep it up." Howard even revealed in one interview that there are still areas in his game that needs a little polishing up defensively. E even mentioned trimming down on his personal fouls, which he call less silly fouls, and learning how to draw charges as the next phases of his defensive development. So there you have it, learn more and watch 2011 NBA Playoffs online and continue to be updated on the latest of the game trend.

Dwayne Wade Fresh Out of Migraine, Ready for Playoff

Dwayne Wade of Miami Heat dusted off the cobwebs of a migraine and took part in some of Miami Heat’s shoot-around on Monday morning. He is then anticipated to wear tinted shades so he can make it to Game 2 of his team’s series against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night. Watch 011 NBA Playoffs online and get updated on the latest news regarding your favrie basketball stars. Wade missed shooting hoops Sunday which is in fact this season’s second time he’s been knocked out with migraine symptoms. Blame it to light sensitivity, which is an issue which usually lingers for Wade.

After he missed one more game and several days of practice thanks a lot for nothing to a migraine in January, Wade began to sport tinted glasses but still scored 34 points in a game held at Madison Square Garden.

"He just did some light shooting but he is feeling significantly better," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He was wearing shades, the guys were calling him 'Blade.' Hopefully he'll be ready to go." The game plan for Wade is to engage in an on-court workout on Monday afternoon in order to test cold water before a final decision on his capability is come up. Well, that’s quite good news so don’t forget to watch 2011 NBA Playoffs online for the much-needed updates that you want, every day!

“It was very encouraging for him to be at shooting hoops session, we all want to be as close to full strength as possible. To see D-Wade back on the court was great to see.”

Ad of course, the 76ers expect Wade to be on the court and coach Doug Collins even had some comic relief on hand for the news that the 2006 NBA Finals MVP was back at practice.

"I have a set of cymbals that every time he runs by the bench, I'm slashing them," Collins said. "And I went out and bought the brightest flashlight I could find, and every time I get eye contact I'm shooting it at him. He's going to be great. He always is. He's a lot like [Michael Jordan]. I think his mental capacity to fight through these things is off the charts and we expect him to be terrific."

Atlanta Hawks Staggered Orlando Magic in Game 1 with Scores 103-93

It’s just the first game of the 2011 NBA Playoffs but the game was already extreme and wild. The first game ended, handing over the victory to Atlanta Hawks.
Joe Johnson scored a staggering 25 points and Jamal Crawford finished the game with 23 points, making Atlanta Hawks go home victorious against Orlando Magic in Game 1 with a score of 103-93. The first game happened last Saturday, April 16, the opening game for the 2011 NBA Playoffs. Watch NBA Playoffs 2011 online at watch2011nba.blogspot.com to see more of the exciting games from other teams.
In last year’s NBA playoffs, Atlanta was eliminated by Orlando in the most lopsided four-game sweep in NBA history. Looks like Atlanta really seek for revenge and wanted to beat the Magics desperately. It was so surprising that the Hawks led by as many as 18 points while running multiple bodies at Howard all night, and the rest of the Magic failed to step up. Dwight Howard was able to tie a career high with 46 points and an amazing 19 rebounds, add it to Jameer Nelson who had 27 points, but aside from two of them, no other Orlando player have reached double figures.
All throughout, the Hawks were in control of the game after stumbling into the playoffs with a six-game losing streak. They carried a short lead of 85-71 in the final period but they were caught with a break when Howard was whistled for his fifth foul with still 10:58 remaining time to play.
Meanwhile, the Game 2 is scheduled on Tuesday night in Orlando so you’d better watch NBA Playoffs 2011 online for you to get updated.
